Did you know you had a secret admirer?

Your body!

I’m dedicating the days leading up to Valentine’s Day to loving my body back for all she does for me. Hmmmm, wonder how that will flesh out?!

:) Yummie! :)

I sat down with a good friend at Cafe Presse, my new favorite breakfast spot .  The hottie waiter came over to take our order.  “Coffee?” I asked my body, “is it loving?”  Silence.  A part of me charges in, “YES!”  I closed my eyes again. “Is there anything that could be more loving?” I asked and then I waited.  “Hold the cream and sugar,” I heard.

Black coffee?  I’ve have never once finished a cup of black coffee.  Until now.  Who knew I liked my coffee black?!  Weird!!

Just think of all the saved calories over a week, a month, a year!  That was so easy!  So far, I’m really liking this question thing.  More to come…

I had one of the most powerful and amazing healing sessions with Rachel Whalley on Sunday after Nia.  In the session, I had a new thought that felt like a deep revelation.  I’ve been working on a typically stuck area of my life, my relationship with food.

Since I was a child, I learned to eat to self-soothe– to calm me down, to pick me up, to “ground” into my body.  Even though I have so many other healthy habits on board, a part of me still might reach out to emotionally eat, or fret about eating, or make decisions from a place of right or wrong.

My idea, and it sounds simple, is to ask myself before I eat (or do anything for that matter) the question, “Is this loving to my body?”, and then wait for an answer.  Once one comes, then the second question, “Is there anything else that could be more loving?”  This second question is interesting because it gives me great information about what I think I actually need.

Even now, when I type these questions, I exhale.  Maybe I am just finally ready to walk through this door.  Hallelujah!  One thing I’m getting for sure is that life does seem to be less about finding the right answers and more about asking the right questions.  Awww yeah!
